While I named the study after the marked likeness of the unfortunate hat, what I spent most of my time on was the portrait. Allo Allo is one of those classic shows that get's rerun after rerun, so while it's production days were a little ahead of mine, I've still grown up with it. It's weird to look at it now and know that several of the actors are dead, despite the obvious knowledge that it's been some time ago and few of them were spring chickens when it started. And still, when I see the old episodes, there they are, alive and chasing the ever elusive Madonna with the big boobies. Makes it hard to think of them as dead. So I take my hat off for Edith Artois.

In a later commentary fellow actors said that it was not difficult for Carmen to act out Edith's tone-deaf songs, as she herself couldn't carry a tune in a bucket
