Description
Another round of classic speed paint studies. These were more complicated, especially the second as the original is like a speed painting itself and the third for the half transparency of the second layer on the dress. The first was tricky for the pose and I spent a lot of time moving things about because I did not want to use a grid. And I still didn't get it right either. It also turned out to be the one I liked least of these. I think I like the last one best because of the dress.
The time I spent is difficult to say. Maybe 2-3 hours on the first, and 1-2 hours on the others. I did not pay attention to time as much as method, and especially with the second and third I avoided outlining as much as possible, painting shapes instead.
The Originals:
Jules Breton - born May 1 1827- died July 5 1906 - The Rest of the Haymakers - [link]
Hans Makart - born 1840- died 1884 - Sarah Bernhardt - [link]
Alfred Stevens - born May 11 1823- died August 24 1906 -In the Country - [link]

I like the second one best, I like the texture of it. I can never get texture into my speedpaints
